Role summary / purpose
Provides technical and budget/financial support for energy projects, including reviewing contract documents, plant design criteria, drawings, and specifications. Responsible for contractor monitoring and oversight of assigned work, with primary focus on route development, refinement, and field visits to support pre-construction preparation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop routing criteria incorporating cost, engineering concerns, and environmental constraints
- Perform route refinement using value engineering and applicable optimization concepts
- Conduct field visits to verify conditions and support pre-construction activities
- Identify and evaluate routing risks with input from subject matter experts
- Lead coordination between technical teams on routing, siting, and construction projects
- Support permitting activities and navigate highly regulated permitting requirements
- Communicate and discuss risks with Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land teams
- Perform routing and siting tradeoff decisions in the presence of uncertainty
Requirements – education & experience
- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 11 - 15 years of experience managing technical aspects of routing, siting, and construction projects
